When we met exactly 2 years ago on the market square in Heidelberg, we didn't know how lucky we would be to soon be making delicious miso miso together. Melina and Daniel were Mieko's best customers from day one and immediately fell in love with the product and, above all, the taste. We quickly decided to join forces and do something (delicious) together.

We all love fresh, delicious and healthy food and want to finally give miso the stage it deserves.

mieko

Mieko comes from Kyoto and is the absolute fermentation nerd in the team. She says that she never misses Japan and has found her new home in Heidelberg. Back then, she was already standing in front of the steaming pot of soybeans with her grandparents and learned to love miso from a young age. We are eternally grateful to her for sharing all of this knowledge with us.

When she is not in the kitchen or trying out a new type of miso-miso, she is harvesting kale and her own wild herbs in the garden. This is also the origin of her great passion for good, seasonal and regional food.

Mieko also studied art in Japan and documentary film in Munich and travels the world for exciting film projects.

Daniel

Daniel starts each new miso-miso work day by providing the team with freshly brewed green tea. Only then does he go into the kitchen with Mieko and Melina to make chickpea miso miso.

Daniel is our vegan foodie, he has been living without any animal products for 11 years and really appreciates the quality of fresh and organic food. (psst: he also bakes the very best sourdough bread)

He is an important part of our team and is probably currently working on optimizations to round off your miso-miso experience from ordering to tasting.

Daniel is an excellent photographer and videographer and (much to Mieko and Melina's delight) is very knowledgeable about the technology.

melina

Melina is our design expert. She always has an eye on all the visual themes and has a lot of fun taking photos, writing and planning the latest miso miso events for you.

She loves to delight her loved ones with fresh, home-cooked food and is busy developing exciting recipes for our blog.

With her singing talent, she keeps our small group in a good mood and, as a feel-good manager, she also arranges the occasional work break.

Besides Miso Miso, she is a photographer, designer and creative director and works in the areas of interior, gastronomy, portrait and product.
